Why a home visit suits Little Elm
No lake crossing for you
Driving to Denton from here means the toll bridge or a longer loop around the water. Having us come over removes that from your day entirely.
Nothing leaves the house
Your items stay in your home from start to finish. If you decide to keep something, it never went anywhere in the first place.
Look at everything, not just a sample
People who travel tend to bring only a few pieces. At home, it is easy to pull out the second box you forgot about and add it to the conversation.
What the visit looks like at your table
We need a bit of table space and decent light, nothing more. We set out a small scale and testing kit, and you can watch each step.
Coins are looked at in their holders. Gold is checked for karat, then weighed, and silver is sorted by type. Once everything has been gone through, we make an offer, and you decide what, if anything, to sell.
If you prefer not to have a visitor at home, a bank lobby or private room works the same way, and you can bring the items straight from your safe deposit box.
We will come over the bridge
Call to book a weekday visit to your Little Elm home or bank. Mention roughly what you have so we bring what we need.
What Little Elm sellers set out for us
Five common kinds of items. Each card leads to a page with more about it.
-
Gold jewelry and scrap
Old wedding bands, charm bracelets, a tangle of chains in a dish. At your table we test each piece and weigh the gold in plain view.
-
Gold bullion coins
Eagles, Buffalos, Maple Leafs and Krugerrands, in any mix of sizes. They can stay in their tubes until we open them together.
-
Silver in quantity
Bars, rounds, bags of old dimes and quarters, or a box of silver dollars. Heavy silver is exactly the kind of thing that is easier to look at where it already sits.
-
Coin albums and sets
State quarter maps, proof sets, folders of wheat cents with a few gaps. Leave every coin where it is for us to see.
-
Older U.S. coins
Silver dollars, Buffalo nickels, Walking Liberty halves and the like. We explain dates and condition as we go through them.
If you have bars or rounds, our bullion page explains what stamps and paperwork help, and the purchase evaluation page describes how we look at coins.
Little Elm questions
Do you have an office in Little Elm?
No. Our only office is a private one in Denton, on the other side of Lewisville Lake. For Little Elm we normally come to you, at home or at your bank. If you would rather drive over, we will give you the Denton address by phone once your appointment is booked.
Which way do you come over from Denton?
Usually down I-35E to Lake Dallas, then over the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge into Little Elm. Our drive time estimates are based on that route with no traffic, so a weekday appointment may land a little either side of it.
Can a neighbor or family member sit in on the visit?
Of course. Many people like having someone else at the table, and it is your home. Whoever is selling just needs to have a photo ID handy.
